Different Methods on How to Decorate a Sweatshirt
This contains different ways you can decorate your sweatshirt. This will also help young adults develop their skills in arts most especially the beginners.
1. Cut out a small beautiful patch from your old clothes. You may sew it and use a thread that will blend with the color of your patch or a contrasting color to create a dramatic effect on your shirt. Or else, you can just pin it on your shirt.
2. You can use a brooch to make your shirt stand out.
3. You can cut out several pieces of cloth from your old, unused clothes and make them into useful pockets. Choose your favorite colors. After which, sew them either on sides or at the front of your sweatshirt.
4. You may also purchase iron-ons from your favorite local stores and iron the designs on your shirt. You can opt from variety of designs from dark to neon colors. There are silver-ons too which sparkles with light. These particular designs will surely look best on dark colored sweatshirts. However, if you do not want to spend money, you can always explore and create on your own.
5. If you are so emotional, you could even let your family or friends sign your sweatshirt using permanent marker. This is definitely a good gift idea. Using a cloth marker is the best thing to use so that it would not blot on the fabric.
6. You can also use silkscreen to decorate your sweatshirt. Another alternative is simply paint on the shirt immediately with a brush. Hand painting is also cool. When doing hand painting, be sure you use water-based paint so you do not have to use paint thinner to remove the paint after.
7. Another way is using stamps to paint different fascinating shapes on your shirt such as shells, stones etc.
8. Another option is tie-dye in order to have an ethnic design.
9. If you are budget conscious, you can use crayons. Sketch on your sweatshirt and afterwards heat press it to let the design stay. When ironing your crayon colored sweatshirt, place a newspaper on the ironing board underneath the shirt and face the shirt down, then iron it. Repeat the same steps until no color is transferred on the newspaper.
