Gerber Newborn Undershirt Product Review
A product review on my experience with Gerber Newborn Undershirt. I used them for over 4 years with two ofmy kids, a part of my needs for newborn essentials.
The size of each shirt and brand name is stamped inside and the back instead of a fabric label sewn on each undershirt. Also stamped inside these Gerber undershirts is the classic baby face logo above the size and brand name. The logo, company brand name and undershirt size are all printed in blue. The seams are sewn inside the shirt for added extra comfort and great style. Just because these shirts are affordable doesn't mean they have to look cheap.
The size of Gerber newborn undershirts are designed very well. Gerber have infants and newborn sizes down to a science. These undershirts fit our son just right. They weren't too big or too small. They add just enough extra room for him to grow into and by that time we were on to large undershirt sizes.
My set of Gerber undershirts didn't bother my son at all. Not even his navel area, which was great because as the umblical cord dries to fall off, anything near the navel can add to navel irritation. Gerber undershirts are clearly the complete opposite. Gerber brand undershirts have stitch work along the collar, sleeves and the bottom of each undershirt which makes sure the undershirt doesn't unravel and do not come apart.
Gerber undershirts are great for catching spill. My son had a problem latching on my nipples and also couldn't suck. It is because of this he wasn't able to swallow a large amount of breastmilk. Even, I would wear a nipple shield with a silicon nipple covering my nipple, to address this problem and place a bib on my before breast feeding. To no avail, breast milk would still get onto his undershirt.
Another stain would occur from a few drops of liquid from his navel as the umblical cord hard to deattach itself from his navel. Since my son is also circumsized, for every diaper change, I would have to apply AD ointement to the tip or top of his penis. Some of the AD onitment, which is made of petroleum, would get onto his undershirt at the bottom. Twice I mistakenly cut a piece of my son's index finger's, the tip of his index finger, because I couldn't see the gap between his fingernail and the tip of his index finger. His finger nails and the missing piece of his fingertip grew back. This was well before baby nail cutters had magnifying glass attached to them.
Of course some of his blood got on to his undershirt as well. I don't cut any of my children's fingernails any longer. I ask my husband to do it. With blood, navel fluid, AD ointment and breast milk, Gerber undershirts are pretty easy to clean. These stains haven't set in at all. For years, and three kids later, these Gerber undershirts have lasted a long time, look and feel brand new. I would recommend Gerber Newborn and Preemie undershirt to anyone who is having kids or who already have a child(ren). Since my pack of Gerber undershirts have lasted the test of time, 4 years I might add, I will be using them for my unborn son. We purchased Gerber undershirts at our local Target. Gerber Undershirts sized 0-6m are 8.99 USD.
