Excessive hand sweating can severely affect a person's way of life. In about 40 percent of these cases, the sweating is genetic. It usually starts in early childhood and can get more severe towards teenage years and adulthood. It used to be thought that excessive hand sweating was caused by over activity of the thyroid gland but over the years, this was proven not to be the case. It was also thought that patients with anxiety problems usually had excessive sweaty hands.
Excess sweating can be located all over the body. Excess sweating, or hyperhidrosis commonly occurs on the palms but can also occur in other areas such as the face, soles of the feet and the armpits. No matter where your excess sweating is located, it can make it difficult for anyone to have a normal life. Many people have a difficult time being socialable because of this problem causing a loss of confidence and low self esteem. Some people even have it so bad that they smear the ink when writing, things slip out of their hands and they have a hard time typing on the computer.
There is a cure that will permanently cure your sweaty hands but it can be pretty expensive. This cure is called ETS and it's a form of surgery. The main problem with this surgery is that a great deal of people experience compensatory sweating in the torso area and on their backs after surgery. This can usually be even worse then the sweaty hands so I do not recommend this cure.
Another treatment that is available is called Drysol. Drysol is a cream that works very fast to dry your hands. This treatment can work if you have a very mild case but for those who sweat badly, this treatment will probably not work well for you.
