Every weekend in the month of April features a different live band that stirs up fun for free. Past years have seen the likes of Pepper, Los Lonely Boys, Lotus, Steel Pulse, and Michael Franti making appearances, and the clever minds at Copper no doubt have similar musical delicacies in store for this year. Things can get a little rowdy, so you may want to leave the tykes at home, but older kids might love experiencing good music with the 'rents, so take them along!
Boulder Tulip Fairy and Elf Parade

It's not quite Amsterdam, but with over 15,000 tulips bedded along its famous Pearl Street Mall, Boulder gives the Dutch a spring time nod in the most gorgeous (and, possibly, adorable) way possible. Tiny tots from all over dress as fairies and elves, walking the length of the mall with the Tulip Fairy "waking up" the beds of flowers to welcome spring. Face painting, prizes, and performances from local music and entertainment troupes round out the family-friendly day.

Encompassing Boulder's awesome culinary, art, music, and yoga scenes, this festival offers a little bit of something for everyone. The wristbands not only get you in to see six headline shows, but get you tons of great discounts at the retail and restaurant locations that participate. For a mini vacation, stay over night in a cabin at Chatauqua Park and hike your hangover off at the Flatirons before catching the next set of shows.
