Fashion Advice for Looking and Feeling Good While Working Out
Don't go another day working out in baggy t-shirts and sweatpants. Here's how you can feel good and look good while working out.
Looking good can actually give you a self-esteem boost. This is true for when you work out also. Your workout clothes should be feel good and make you look good. This does not mean that you have to wear a face full of makeup to the gym, as that is not what looking good means. The idea is that when you look good in your clothes, you feel better about what you are doing and you are going to be willing to do it more. That means if you really don't like to exercise, wear something that you look good and feel proud in and you may actually look forward to working out.
Now, what kind of workout clothes make you look and feel good? At all costs, avoid raiding your husband's or boyfriend's closets. Baggy t-shirts, sweatpants and men's shorts will not make you feel good. Even the size 2 woman that you idolize at the gym would not look good or feel good in clothes that are way too big for her or do not fit her body like they should. Your workout clothing should be cut so that it does not reveal too much so that you do not feel exposed, but it should not be so large that it looks like you could fit two of you in the clothing. If you are not that comfortable with your body, instead of wearing an XXL t-shirt, opt for a zip-front jacket that can be worn open or zipped up if you are feeling too exposed. Instead of wearing ultra-thick sweatpants that make you look like your butt is down by your knees, wear a drawstring lounge pant that is made in the women's department.
There are plenty of other clothing options that can make you feel and look good for your workout. Something as simple as a bright-colored tennis shoe, can add some style to your outfit. If you want to start small and aren't yet that comfortable, start with the shoes. Purchase a cute pair of sneakers that maybe you never though about wearing before. Velour sweat suits are another great option. You can keep the jacket on or take it off depending on how you feel. Try some tank tops in bright colors paired with black yoga pants to brighten up your look. Keep your clothing clean and neat and that will also help make you feel good. Workout clothing should be free of any holes or stains.
Many people may not think that it is important to look good when working out, but think about the last time you got dressed up and felt good about yourself. Didn't you have more self-confidence? Well having more self-confidence while working out will help you to want to work out more and then you know what that means? A healthier you and a new workout wardrobe when you lose the weight!
