Little known facts
The black walnut is also known as the American walnut since it's native to such North American areas as Ontario, Canada and South Dakota. It can also be found in Georgia, Florida and Texas.

Abscesses - Pus localized anywhere on the body. There are many different types. Acute abscesses come with throbbing pain and fever. Asthma - This should be self-explanatory. But in case it isn't, in case you don't know what it is exactly, I'll tell you. Asthma is a chronic disease of the respiratory system that constricts a person's airway. Common symptoms of asthma are wheezing, and coughing.
Athlete's foot - You don't want to see this infection at its worst. Athlete's foot or tinea pedis is fungal infection that commonly spreads over a person's foot. Symptoms are scaling, cracking, inflammation and itching of the skin. I don't know if you know this, but Athlete's foot can spread to everything, from your armpits to your groin. Sounds fun, huh?
Boils - Simply put, a boil is a swelling or infection of a hair follicle or sweat gland.
Cancer - This is a disease we've all been introduced to in one way or another. But hardly anyone ever tells you how it works. Well, let me explain. Cancer is an unnatural division and propagation of cells. Plus, when you get too many cells growing in one place, they can invade and destroy other tissues. This disease can travel to all parts of the body, and form in many organs; such as, the kidneys, the lungs, the bladder and stomach.
Candida albicans - Among other things, the asexual fungus, Candida is an agent responsible for oral and genital infections in humans.
Canker sores - Canker sores or aphthous ulcers are a type of mouth ulcers that can commonly be found under the lip. It may look like a zit, it may feel like a zit, but it's no zit. Stress, fatigue, injuries from biting are all causes of canker sores.
Carbuncles - This is a painful infection of the skin, similar to a boil; however, more severe. Carbuncles can lead to the discharge of pus, and dead tissue.
Cold sores - Commonly, cold sores are lesions that pop up in groups on the lips, accompanied by a fever or the common cold.
Colitis - It's simply a digestive disease linked with the colon.
Dandruff - Those flakes of dry, dead skin falling from your hair.
Diarrhea - Do we have to describe this ailment? Okay, if we must, we must. Diarrhea is the softening and liquefying of bowel movements. For infants, this ailment can be very dangerous.
Diphtheria - Marked by inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, diphtheria is simply an acute contagious disease.
Dysentery - If you have blood in your stool, you've got dysentery. I bet you wanted to know that one, huh?
Eczema - It's a general term for cases of skin inflammation. If you have redness, oozing or crusted parts of your skin, you might just have some form of eczema. Bet you wanted to read all about eczema. I'm cruel, but I'm not that cruel.
Eye diseases - This includes keratoconjunctivitis in which the cornea or conjunctiva is inflamed and can lead to an epidemic, and pinkeye in which the eyes are inflamed, turning them pink.
Fevers - This should be self-explanatory. But for the sake of argument, let's go into it anyway. It's when the body temperature goes rises above the normal 98.6 degrees Farhenheit.
Fungus - They've got parasitic qualities. They reproduce asexually. They don't have any chlorophyll. They're fungi. No matter what, they're not good for the body.
Gargle - Hold your head back, exhale while you've got liquid held in your throat, and you're gargling. Swish the liquid around in your air-filled cheeks, and you're washing your mouth out.
Goiter - When the thyroid gland is enlarged, there should be a swelling in the front of your neck. This is goiter.
Gum disease - The gums or gingiva is the tissue that lays over the teeth. This tissue can be host to any number of diseases and deficiencies, including gingivitis (an inflammation of the gums).
Hemorrhoids - This happens to be one of a few I don't like to write about (the other is diarrhea), but we should let you know what it is exactly. Hemorrhoids is when the veins in your rectum and anus are inflammed or swelled, causing the victim a lot of pain when they poop.
Herpes - Also known as herpes simplex or even the Herpes simplex virus (HSV), this nasty disease can pop up on your genitals, your lips, just about anywhere on your body. You'll find fluid-filled blisters and sores on your skin. You'll experience prodromal systems just before the virus strikes and then, it'll become blatantly obvious that you've got herpes. It begins with irritation of the skin, and itching in the infected areas. Just hope you never catch it.
Impetigo - A contagious skin disease that can lead to the formation of pustules. It can be caused by staphylococci or streptococci.
Lactation - A woman's production of milk from her breast.
Liver congestion - The liver is a mult-purpose and extremely helpful organ, but it can be host to a number of diseases and disorders; such as, Hepatitis or inflammation of the liver, Cirrhosis or the formation of fibrous tissue inside the liver, Gilbert's syndrome or the genetic disorder of the bilirubin metabolism, and Glycogen storage disease II which leads to progressive muscle weakness.
Lupus - Any idea what it is? Don't feel bad, neither did I until I researched it. It's an autoimmune disease that may cause debilitation. It can also lead to death. Also known as systemic lupus erythematosis or SLE can attack any part of the body, especially the heart, joints, liver, nervous system, and kidneys.
Malaria - Malaria is simply an infectious disease of several different types. One type is so severe, a child could be playing in the backyard in the early afternoon and be dead by bedtime. Malaria could be one of the scariest infectious diseases I've ever heard of. How it works is by the malaria parasite entering the liver, from there, they spread, invading blood cells from which to reproduce. The cell is completely gone at this point. This cycle continues until the parasite reaches the brain.
Deficiencies in blood oxygen - You don't want your blood to stop transporting oxygen.
Internal parasites - Simply put, parasites are organisms that feed on or lives on other organisms.
Pinworms - Simply put, pinworms are nematodes worm that can infest your intestines.
Poison Ivy and oak
Skin rashes - Simply put, skin rashes are inflammation and any kind of eruption on the skin that can lead to itching. There are several different types of rashes; such as, heat rashes, morbilliform rashes, and nettle rashes.
Ringworm - Another condition like Athete's foot I did not want to see in my research, but my reader has a right to know if they have it or not. Despite what you might think, this is not a worm like the tapeworm, this is a superficial infectious condition of the skin. This problem will have you scratching ring or oval-shaped legions in different parts of your skin. Ringworm is caused by any number of fungi.
Scrofula - Scrofula or cervical adenitis is the inflammation from tuberculosis found in the lymph nodes of kids.
Syphilis - An infectious STD (sexually transmitted disease) that can cause small ulcers around the genitalia, skin eruptions, mucous patches and fevers.
Tapeworm - They are also called, cestodes. They are parasitic flatworms living in the digestive tract. Could it be something you didn't know you ate?
Teeth - This should be self-explanatory.
Throat - This should be self-explanatory.
Gargle or drink some Black Walnut to clear your throat.
Low thyroid - The thyroid gland is found in the lower part of your neck. This endocrine gland can be host and cause of any number of disorders and deficiencies.
Tonsillitis - Inflammation of the lymphoid tissue (tonsils) in the back of the mouth.
Tuberculosis - A deadly disease that primarily attacks the lungs. Just hope you never catch this bug.
Internal ulcers - You can get ulcers just about anywhere on your body. Ulcers are open sores of the skin, eyes or mucous membranes. They can leave your skin looking like the surface of some dead, alien planet. It's really not something you'll ever want to see. Duodenal ulcers can be found on the first portion of the small intestine. Gastric ulcers are found in the area of the stomach. Mouth ulcers are found in or around the mouth.
Bladder - This elastic organ that collects urine from the kidneys can be host to any number of illnesses and deficiencies; such as, bladder sphincter dyssynergia or the condition that can lead to incontinent urination, Cystitis or the inflammation of the bladder, and Hematuria or the presence of blood in your urine.
Vaginal discharge - Forget it, I doubt the ladies will want others to know what this is.
Worms - An example of a worm is the parasitic flatworm.
